Chin Wu Huang is a highly renowned, deeply respected, and beloved senior automotive designer in the industry.

Having worked at Opel and Mazda, he played a leading role in the design of iconic models such as the MX-5, RX-7, and RX-8—vehicles that have come to represent the classic spirit of Mazda design.

Driven by his passion for automobiles, Chin’s greatest enthusiasm beyond his design career has been the creation of classic car art. In the years before digital technology became widely available, he created works with markers and pastels, demonstrating a level of mastery that can only be described as extraordinary.

Later, with the rise of the digital era, he transformed his hand-drawing techniques into computer-based illustration, beginning a new journey in digital art creation.

This art book presents Chin Wu Huang’s automotive artworks dating back to 2004. It traces the evolution of his creative practice, from the “Digital Transitional Period,” in which he explored the shift in techniques and expression, to the “Digital Realism Period,” where he challenged the limits of human perception, and finally to the later “Digital Impressionistic Period,” marked by a return to freedom, spontaneity, and personal experimentation.
